The Calvert County Bar Association was first formed in 1953 by a group of local attorneys. It has since grown to include over 120 attorneys who either live in or have an office in Calvert County, Maryland. The Calvert County Bar Association is the largest in Southern Maryland. The association meets a minimum of nine times a year with an annual business meeting occurring each July. Currently, the association participates in Christmas in April each year and hosts social events including, a golf tournament, a 5K, a ski trip, and a Christmas party each year. The Bar Association assists with the County Moot Court program in the high schools, has a scholarship program for graduating seniors, and staffs a Family Law Clinic in the Circuit Courthouse each week for self-represented litigants. The Association is run by a Board of Directors that is comprised of the Bar President, President-Elect, Treasurer, Secretary, and three additional Bar members which are all elected by the general members at the annual business meeting each July.
